What to tell us

• Where the water appears: under a sink, behind a wall, at a fixture, near a water heater or elsewhere.
• Whether it is dripping, spraying, pooling or only visible after using a fixture.
• Whether you have shut off a fixture valve or the main supply, and whether water has reached electrical equipment.

What might happen next

A visible connection may be straightforward to inspect. Water showing up far from a fixture may need more tracing before any wall or floor is opened.

The goal is to identify the source before choosing a repair. A photo of the affected area and the pipe, if accessible, can make the first conversation more useful.

When to act quickly

If water is actively flowing and cannot be contained, shut off the supply if safe and seek urgent assistance. Stay clear of wet electrical areas.
